(LONDON) — Another top-seeded player at Wimbledon goes down. Serena Williams fell to Sabine Lisicki 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 after being up 3-0 in the third set.
The loss snapped Williams’ 34-match win streak and a chance at a sixth title at the All England Club.
“I didn’t play the big points good enough, do what I do best,” Williams said. “I had a little hesitation and that explains it.”
Lisicki fell to the grass, overcome with emotion, after she landed her second match point.
