(TORONTO) — The fallout continues a day after Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun was suspended for the rest of the 2013 season for violating Major League Baseball’s drug testing policy.
Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Skip Schumaker spoke out against Braun on Tuesday, telling reporters that it’s time to eliminate illegal performance-enhancing drugs from sports once and for all.
“Suspend them all,” Schumaker said. “It needs to get out of baseball, so how are you going to do it? I know we have an agreement; we all agreed upon the agreement — 50, 100. I thought that was enough at the beginning of it, but apparently not. Watching him talk right now makes me sick.”
Schumaker says Braun should have received a lifetime ban.
