While that might sound like an eternity, the Granite State Poll is already keeping track of how people plan to vote in New Hampshire and on the Republican side, it looks like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is far ahead in the presidential sweepstakes.

The latest poll, sponsored by WMUR-TV and conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, shows Christie leading the pack with 21 percent among likely GOP voters, up from 11 percent last April.

Meanwhile, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, also considered one of the favorites in the early going, is way back in fifth place with just 6 percent of voters supporting his possible bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

In April, Rubio was at 15 percent.  If the primary were held today, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul would receive 16 percent of the vote, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush would get 10 percent and Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan 8 percent.

Meanwhile, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is so far ahead of her potential challengers in New Hampshire, she might as well skip the state if she decides to throw her hat into the ring.

Clinton gets 62 percent of likely Democratic primary voters with Vice President Joe Biden only receiving 8 percent of the vote.  Other potential contenders are in single digits.

Biden’s one saving grace is that 93 percent of Democrats admit they could still change their minds by January 2016.
