GM Peter Chiarelli Signs Four-Year Extension with Bruins
Published at(BOSTON) — After fielding a team that made the Stanley Cup Final two of the last three years, Peter Chiarelli was awarded a four-year contract extension by the Boston Bruins Thursday.
The Bruins will hold a 10 AM ET news conference Friday, to discuss the extension that will keep Chiarelli with the B’s through the 2017-18 season.
Since Chiarelli became the Bruins’ GM May 26, 2006, the Bruins have made the playoffs six times compiling a playoff record of 50-35.
Under Chiarelli’s watch, the Bruins have gone 291-187-62 during the regular season. After the 2008-09 season, the Sporting News named Chiarelli the NHL Executive of the Year.
