Christopher Trotman/Getty Images (NEW YORK) —  The Portland Trail Blazers continued their impressive offseason by signing guard Mo Williams to a two-year deal, according to his agent Mark Barlelstein.

The deal is for two years and $5.6 million, with a player option for the second year.  Other teams who were in the running for his services were the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies.  The Trail Blazers were able to offer Williams the most money.

The 30-year-old Williams will come off the bench for the Trail Blazers, backing up Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard and rookie C.J. McCollum.

Williams averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 assists in 46 games with the Utah Jazz last season.  He has also spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks.
