(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – A local man has finally received his Purple Heart, 45 years after being wounded in Vietnam.  Jerry Blackburn of Idaho Falls was given the award from U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo during a ceremony on Saturday. Crapo noted that it was important to give recognition where it was deserved. Blackburn hopes that the award will serve as a reminder for the community to rally behind veterans, particularly those who are seeking assistance.
