(FLORHAM PARK, N.J.) — The New York Jets placed fullback Lex Hilliard on the injured reserve list Wednesday, ending his season a day after he suffered a shoulder injury at practice.
The 29-year-old Hilliard suffered a fractured shoulder blade and is expected to undergo surgery next week, according to ESPN.
Hilliard played 12 games with the Jets last year after starting the season with the New England Patriots. For New York, he rushed for 31 yards on eight carries while catching four passes for 23 yards.
The Jets signed wide receiver Marcus Rucker to take Hilliard’s roster spot.
