(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) — Three time-NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to a broken right leg, Stewart-Haas Racing announced on Monday.
Mark Martin will replace Stewart in the No. 14 Chevrolet for 12 of the final 13 races, beginning with this Saturday night’s running of the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Austin Dillon will race for Stewart on Oct. 20 at Talladega.
Stewart has been out of action since Aug. 5 after breaking his right tibia and fibula during a sprint car race at Southern Iowa Speedway.
Martin has won 40 sprint cup races in 870 career starts.
