(POCATELLO, ID) – Dozens of local Democrats rallied in Pocatello Saturday to support better funding for Idaho’s education system. Bannock County Democratic Party Chairman Dave Finkelnburg says state lawmakers need to re-prioritize education ahead of small-margin profits for corporations. He also noted that in terms of spending, the state pours nearly three times as much money into prisons as it does education. Organizers are hoping to unite people from across party lines in an effort to restore funds for classrooms that have been lost in the past five years.
