Fire at Atlanta Airport Leaves Two Firefighters Injured

GETTY 9313 Escalator?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1378207365071iStockphoto/Thinkstock(ATLANTA) — Two firefighters were injured on Tuesday while trying to put out a fire at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The fire erupted on an escalator in Concourse T between 5 and 5:30 a.m., Janet Ward, the public relations manager for Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, confirmed to ABC News.  Heavy smoke impacted passengers earlier, she said.  

The fire has since been put out. 

The two firefighters who were hurt suffered minor injuries and declined hospital care.
