(FOXBOROUGH, Mass.) — The New England Patriots on Tuesday placed running back Shane Vereen on injured reserve with a designation to return.
The 24-year-old Vereen suffered a wrist injury during the Patriots’ 23-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He finished the game with 101 rushing yards on 14 carries and seven receptions for 58 yards.
Vereen won’t be eligible to return to the gridiron until Week 11, when the Pats take on the Panthers in Carolina.
The team re-signed tight end Matthew Mulligan to take Vereen’s spot on the 53-man roster.
