Reid Tells ‘Rump’ GOPers: ‘Get a Life’

That’s how Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, known for his often colorful language, described the group of House Republicans intent on tying the issue of Obamacare to the continuing resolution.
“Why don’t they get a life and talk about something else? People deserve better,” Reid told reporters Friday.
“This is a law, four years old, declared constitutional. Let them find something else to be weird about,” Reid later added.
Reid stressed that the “Rump Republicans” will be the ones responsible for shutting down the government if a budget bill is not passed before the fiscal year ends on Monday.
“The middle class, working men and women in this country, are the ones we were elected to serve. That’s who we should be thinking about. They’re the ones who are going to pay the price if these rump Republicans force a government shutdown,” he said.
“The absolute bare minimum we should be able to do here in Congress is to keep our government open,” Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said.
Reid said he has no plans to speak with House Speaker John Boehner in the coming days.
“No,” Reid said. “The only way to solve this problem is just accept what we’ve done, just accept it.”
