(ARLINGTON, Texas) — Fighting Irish senior quarterback Tommy Rees tossed 279 yards and three touchdowns as Notre Dame (4-2) upended No. 22 Arizona State (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) on Saturday night, 37-34. Notre Dame now has won all five games in the Shamrock Series.
Trailing 27-20 with 8:18 left in the game, the Sun Devils tied it up on a Taylor Kelly 21-yard-touchdown pass to De’Marieya Nelson. Notre Dame would take the lead for good with a 25-yard field goal from Kyle Brindza with 3:03 remaining.
The game was played at the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium in front of 66,960 fans.
