Robert Griffin III threw for 298 yards with two touchdowns and one interception as the Redskins earned their second victory of the season.

“When we go watch the film,” Griffin said, “we won’t watch it with smiles on our face. … But I think we made enough plays today to win the game, and that’s all matters.”

The Bears (4-3) lost starting quarterback Jay Cutler to a groin injury in the second quarter.  He was replaced by Josh McCown, who hadn’t played in an NFL game in nearly two seasons.  McCown threw for 204 yards and a touchdown, but his team came up short.

Chicago took a 41-38 lead when McCown hit tight end Martellus Bennett with a 7-yard touchdown pass with 3:57 left in the fourth quarter.  Griffin got the ball back and led the Redskins on what was their most complete drive of the season which included three third down conversions.

Both of Washington’s wins this season have come against backup quarterbacks.
