(NEW YORK) — Robert Downey Jr. is “The King” of Hollywood. He was awarded that title by New York magazine’s Vulture website, which has named the Iron Man actor the most valuable star of 2013.
The site compiled its ranking by taking into account box office revenue, Twitter mentions, Oscar nominations and wins, “likeability” scores, and several other factors. One hundred celebrities in all appear on the list.
Downey leads the way in part due to his involvement in Marvel’s The Avengers and Iron Man 3, which currently rank as two of the top five highest-grossing movies of all time at the global box office.
Vulture also notes that Downey has “managed his stardom with grace and good humor, a remarkable turnaround from the drug-fueled days when he was an uninsurable lost boy.”
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt round out the top five.
