In his first TV interview since their split was announced earlier in the week, Bloom tells Katie Couric he and Kerr love each other and are committed to their child.

Bloom states on Friday’s edition of Katie, “There’s no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean star also tells Couric, “Life sometimes doesn’t work out exactly as we plan or hope for.  But we’re adults, I’m 36 and now she’s 30.  We’re professionals.  We love and care about each other.  Most of all, we love our son.”

Bloom’s rep said in a statement this week that the couple has been “amicably separated for the past few months.”  They married in 2010.
