Benett/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Keira Knightley surprised the world this past May when she tied the knot with husband James Righton in a low-key intimate wedding ceremony in southern France. Now the fiercely private star is speaking out about married life.

Though she never thought of herself as the marrying type, Knightley told Harper’s Bazaar UK edition, “These words that you think beforehand, ‘That’s the reason I’ll never do it’… those words that you see as completely negative, and you suddenly see them as being incredibly positive, and that’s actually quite liberating and quite nice.”

Knightley told Harpers that she likes the consistency her marriage to the Klaxons singer and keyboardist provides, but don’t expect the 28-year-old actress to share details.

After signing up on Twitter under a false name, Knightley cancelled her membership after just 12 hours.

“It made me feel a little bit like being in a school playground and not being popular and standing on the sidelines kind of going, ‘Argh,'” she told the magazine’s February issue.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star said she has no problem if people think she’s aloof.

“No, I think that’s fine… I like being private,” she said. “”I haven’t asked a lot of the actresses who I really admire, ‘How do you do it?’ because I don’t want to know. Maybe I’m childish in that way; I just don’t want to know about your life.”

In the end, the work is what counts.

Knightley stars in the forthcoming film, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, the latest reboot from the Tom Clancy books about CIA agent Jack Ryan, but admitted she had concerns about appearing in a popcorn film until she spoke with the film’s director Kenneth Branagh.

“He [Branagh] was like, ‘Don’t feel guilty… it’s going to be a Hollywood action film, that’s what it’s going to be, and that’s fine.’ It was quite liberating hearing him say that,” she told Harpers.
