Louisiana-Lafayette Wins New Orleans Bowl Over Tulane, 24-21
Published at(NEW ORLEANS) — Ragin’ Cajuns kicker Hunter Stover converted on a go-ahead 27-yard field-goal with 9:56 to play in the fourth quarter as Louisiana-Lafayette (9-4; 5-2 Sun Belt) defeated Tulane (7-6; 5-3 C-USA) in the New Orleans Bowl, 24-21.
Louisiana-Lafayette opened the game with 21 unanswered points behind touchdown runs from running backs Elijah McGuire and Alonzo Harris and an 82-yard interception return for a touchdown by cornerback Corey Trim.
Tulane would battle back and tie the game at 21 with 2:34 in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown rush from running back Orleans Darkwa.
Louisiana-Lafayette has now won three consecutive New Orleans Bowl.
