(NEW YORK) — Infielder Rafael Furcal has agreed to a one-year contract with the Miami Marlins, according to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.
The 36-year-old Furcal missed all of 2013 while recovering from Tommy John Surgery on his right elbow.
According to Rosenthal, the Marlins will use Furcal at second base, a position he has only played 36 games at during his major league career.
The three-time All-Star is a career .281 hitter with 1,059 runs scored, 113 home runs, 585 RBIs and 314 stolen bases.
