Brown, who lost his re-election bid in 2012 to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has been rumored to be interested in challenging New Hampshire Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in 2014.

The news of Brown’s home sale was first reported by Bloomberg News when Andrew Glincher, managing director and CEO of Brown’s law firm, Nixon Peabody, said that Brown plans to move to New Hampshire but will continue practicing law in Boston.

An aide to Brown confirmed to ABC News that Brown will close on the sale of his Wrentham, Mass., home this week and will move to New Hampshire.

The move comes as Brown and outside groups are fueling rumors that he will make yet another run for U.S. Senate.

A conservative super PAC, Ending Spending Inc., has already begun paying for web ads to boost Brown in New Hampshire. And according to ABC News affiliate WMUR, the group has also reserved air time for a spot attacking Sheehan this week.

The ads are timed to coincide with Brown’s scheduled speaking engagement at the New Hampshire Republican holiday party Thursday night.

In recent weeks, Brown has been a frequent visitor to the state.

At a stop in Londonderry, N.H., recently, he hinted at a potential presidential ambitions, telling reporters that nothing is “off the table at this point.”

Brown already owns a home in Rye, N.H., and he put his Massachusetts home up for sale in September.

He has repeatedly told reporters, including ABC News earlier this month, that he has not made a decision about running for Senate.
