Consumer Electronics Show Kicks Off in Las Vegas
Published at(LAS VEGAS) — The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), where the latest and greatest from the world of technology is highlighted, kicks off Monday in Las Vegas.
Jim Barry with the Consumer Electronics Association, which hosts the event, says, “This is the biggest trade show in North America. It’s the biggest annual technology show in the world. There will be over 3,200 exhibitors in over two million square feet of exhibit space. That’s like 35 football fields and I can attest to that, it’s really, really big.”
Among the newest gadgets being shown at CES: Wearable and fitness technology and ultra-high definition TVs. The latest in new car technology from nine out of the 10 largest automakers will also be on display.
Also in attendance at the show will be Typo Products, the company founded by Ryan Seacrest that is at the center of a new lawsuit.
Typo has been getting a lot of attention lately for it’s $99 iPhone case, which features a built-in keyboard. But BlackBerry claims that the device too closely resembles the keyboard on their smartphones.
