Published at(ROME) — The ill-fated Costa Concordia cruise ship could be towed away from the coast of Tuscany as early as June, according to the team organizing the ship’s salvage operation.
Preparation for removing the ship will begin in mid-April and is expected to take about two months.
Twelve different ports around Europe are being considered for the ship’s demolition, said Costa CEO Michael Thamm.
The Costa Concordia ran aground off the coast of Italy on January 13, 2012, leaving 32 people dead.
