(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) — Malcolm Brogdon and London Perrantes each scored 15 points to vault No. 12 Virginia past Miami, 65-40 Wednesday night, giving the Cavaliers their 12th-straight win.
Perrantes, a freshman, went 4-for-4 from 3-point land, hitting two of them during the Cavaliers’ 16-5 run to open up the second half.
“We were concerned about Joe Harris and Malcolm Brogdon, but when Perrantes starts making those shots, we thought ‘Oh, whoa,'” Miami head coach Jim Larranaga said. “He played a terrific game and is a great player.”
Erik Swoope scored a team-high 13 points for Miami (14-14, 5-10), who had their two game winning streak snapped.
Virginia (24-5, 15-1, ACC) is now guaranteed at least a top-two seed in the conference tournament next month. The Cavaliers can win the ACC regular-season title on Saturday with a win over No. 4 Syracuse.
