(FILER, ID) – A south-central Idaho police officer is on administrative leave after shooting a dog. Filer police officer Tarek Hassani responded to a complaint on Saturday about dogs roaming around a neighborhood. Dash cam footage shows Hassani drawing his gun and cautiously approaching the dogs, which appeared to be barking and growling. Hassani, who was previously attacked by a dog in another incident, killed one of the dogs after it reportedly snapped at him. Neighbors say roaming dogs have become such a big problem in the city that children are carrying sticks to protect themselves.
