Even though Wilson is fresh off winning a Super Bowl for the Seahawks, he was drafted by the Rangers, and Wilson has been with the team during spring training.

“The guy’s a Super Bowl champ,” Rangers manager Ron Washington said. “You think they want him to come down here and get hurt.”

Wilson is expected to visit the team’s spring training complex on Monday, and workout with the Rangers. He will even be in uniform, and could even be in the dugout and in uniform if he chooses to do so.

“Our intentions are to see if there’s anything he can say that may help anyone around here that has on a baseball uniform,” Washington added. “This guy is a winner. He has tremendous character. He has attitude and undoubtedly has a lot of commitment to what he does. That’s what we’re about, and we just want him to feel comfortable.”

The Rangers selected Wilson in the Rule 5 Draft back in December. He hasn’t played baseball since 2011 when he was in Class A with the Colorado Rockies.
