(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Recent weather has eased drought concerns across the state. Federal authorities initially predicted significant drought levels for the summer months, but heavy rains and snow showers have saturated the highlands enough that most areas will be able to meet this year’s irrigation demands. Experts say the Boise Basin’s snowpack is already at 70 percent of normal, while water flows along the Salmon, Payette, and Snake rivers should be more than enough for the state’s booming outdoor recreation industry.
