(ORLANDO, Fla.) — The Florida Gators took care of business on Saturday after taking down Pittsburgh 61-45.
Scottie Wilbekin was the hero for the Gators against the Panthers. He scored 21 points in the game, including 11 in the team’s 13 in a 7-minute stretch in the second half. Michael Frazier was the only other Florida player to score in double figures as he chipped in ten points.
With the win, Florida won their 28th consecutive game, and advance to the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive year.
“We just wanted to come out and not let them player harder than us or not play as hard as we can,” Wilbeken said after the game. “I think we do a good job in having our energy up at the start of the game, and we played together on offense and played together on defense.”
Florida’s next opponent has yet to be determined. On Thursday they will play the winner of Sunday’s UCLA – Steven F. Austin matchup.
