23 Arrested in Gay Rights Protest
Published at(BOISE, ID) – Twenty-three people were arrested Tuesday during a protest at the state Capitol. Members of “Add the Words Idaho” blocked the entrance to Gov. Butch Otter’s office. Over 140 people have been arrested during demonstrations this year. The group, which is being led by former state Sen. Nicole LeFavour, wants additional protections in housing, employment, and public services for the LGBT community. Republican lawmakers have thus far denied requests to hold a hearing on the issue.
