Cincinnati Bengals Release LB James Harrison
Published at(CINCINNATI) — The Cincinnati Bengals released linebacker James Harrison on Thursday, after one season.
Harrison, who spent his first 10 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, signed with the Bengals last April. In 15 games with Cincinnati, the five-time Pro Bowler had 30 tackles, two sacks and one interception.
“It’s time for us to go a different direction now, with some younger guys, but we will all still reap benefits from having had James with us as a Bengal last year,” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said in a released statement.
Harrison was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.
