Simpson has served in Congress for 16-years and is up for re-election this year.  He used a bulk of his time talking about the importance of seniority in Washington.  “The more years spent in service, gives a Congressman the opportunities to lead committees”, said Simpson.  He talked of his service as Chairman of the House Energy and Water Development subcommittee, which oversees funding for the Department of Interior, the Forest Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, and a number of independent agencies.  “Water is vital in Idaho, we fight over water”   He also talked about the importance of being on the House Interior and Environmental Appropriations subcommittee,  which oversees funding for the Department of Interior, the Forest Service, and the Environmental Protection Agency.  “With the vast amounts of forests and BLM land in Idaho, this committee is highly important to Idaho.”  says Simpson.    The Congressman will be involved in the Primary in May with the general elections this November.
