Jason Merritt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Jennifer Garner and Jane Lynch are among the celebrities who are joining Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In foundation and the Girl Scouts for the newly launched “Ban Bossy” campaign.

The actresses star alongside Beyonce, Condoleezza Rice, Diane von Furstenberg and others in a 60-second Lifetime PSA that encourages leadership in young girls, who are often branded bossy while pursuing their ambitions.

“I think the word bossy is just a squasher,” Lynch says in the video.

“Being labeled something matters,” Garner adds.

The campaign has also launched a website — banbossy.com — to help young girls cultivate leadership skills as well as give tips to parents and teachers on how to properly encourage girls to be leaders.
