(POCATELLO, ID) – A Fort Hall man has pleaded not guilty to felony charges after he was shot by deputies during a high-speed chase last November.  Thirty-three-year-old Kevin Toane was suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run when an officer tried to pull him over in Chubbuck. Toane, however, continued speeding onto the reservation. Once the chase had stopped, Toane reportedly tried to ram a deputy’s car, which prompted officers to open fire. The suspect was later treated for critical injuries at a Utah hospital. Charges for leaving the scene of an accident have been dismissed. Further proceedings are scheduled for April 7.
