(NEW YORK) — The Oakland Raiders re-signed running back Darren McFadden on Tuesday, reports ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. The deal is worth $4 million, according to sources.
McFadden has been plagued by injuries throughout his career since the Raiders drafted him with the 4th overall selection in 2008.
McFadden could be a stop-gap in the Raiders run game while last year’s draft pick Latavius Murray continues to recover from an injury that kept him out the entire season.
McFadden has played in 67 games in six seasons with Oakland.
McFadden’s re-up comes after the Raiders recently lost running back Rashad Jennings to free agency after he agreed to a deal with the New York Giants on Tuesday.
