(MIAMI) — Free agent running back Knowshon Moreno and the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a one-year contract worth $3 million, according to ESPN.
Moreno was selected out of Georgia by the Broncos with the 12th overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. In five seasons with Denver, the 26-year-old rushed for 3,468 yards and 26 touchdowns on 845 carries.
He eclipsed the 1,000-rushing-yard mark for the first time in his career last season, when he rushed for 1,038 yards.
Miami’s running game struggled in 2013; it was ranked 26th in the league. Splitting time in the backfield, Lamar Miller rushed for 709 yards while Daniel Thomas had 406 yards.
