(BOISE, ID) – Idaho will receive a little over $14,000 as a result of a settlement involving 20 states that sued Phusion Products. The company, which markets the malted energy drink known as “Four Loko,” allegedly advertised its product to younger people, many of whom were minors. The drink was reported to have caused a significant increase in the amount of binge-drinking on college campuses. As part of the $400,000 settlement, Phusion will no longer be allowed to use models under the age of 25 in its advertisements and will be banned from using college-related names or logos in promotional materials.
