Obama Tax Returns Show First Family’s Income Has Plummeted Since 2009
Published at(WASHINGTON) — During their time in the White House, the First Family’s adjusted gross income has decreased from a high of more than $5.5 million in 2009 to $481,000 this year — largely, it appears, due to the decline in proceeds from the sales of the president’s books.
And in the process, the First Family’s favorite charities have suffered.
In 2009, for example, the Obamas donated $329,100 to 40 different charities. Last year, they donated only a fraction of that — just under $60,000 — to 32 charities.
