Passenger Monique Lawler — who was aboard Flight 722 from Chicago to Sacramento, Calif. — told ABC News affiliate KABC-TV that a man tried to open the plane’s rear door.

“Some gentlemen just decided that he wanted us to visit the Lord today and decided to open up the back hatch of Southwest airlines flight while we were already up in the air,” she said.

Lawler said another male passenger quickly took the man down.

“Kind of subdued him, you know held him down and he tried a couple of times to open up the back hatch,” she said.

The plane landed safely and the unruly passenger, who has not been identified, was taken off the plane in handcuffs. According to KABC, it is not yet known if the passenger will face any charges.
