ThinkStock(HOYLAKE, England) — New day, same story at the British Open. Rory McIlory remains atop the leader board after shooting his second straight 6-under 66.
Heading into the weekend, McIlory holds a four-stroke lead over Dustin Johnson.
For Johnson, he had a big day as he shot a 7-under 65, which was the best score of the day. He he 1-under 71 on Thursday.
“Navigating the bunkers out here is the big thing here off the tee,” Johnson said. “The rough is spotty, you can get decent rise, but if your in the bunker its a penalty every time. So I’ve done really well the first coulpe days, I haven’t hit any fairway bunkers. Today was a lot more windy but I hit hte ball solid.”
Tiger Woods had a rough second round that almost saw him missing the cut. Tiger just made the cut after shooting a 5-over 77 on Thursday.
