(BRASILIA, Brazil) — Mario Gotze broke a scoreless game in the 113th minute of overtime to give Germany a 1-0 lead over Argentina, which they would hold onto, giving them another World Cup title on Sunday.
The substitute Gotze gave Germany their fourth World Cup title and sent the streets of Berlin in a frenzy.
Germany found a way to control Argentina’s superstar Lionel Messi and continued to run up and down the field in overtime.
Germany’s last World Cup title came in 1990 against Argentina.
