Jessica Simpson Marries Eric Johnson

The singer and her fiancé Eric Johnson tied the knot in Santa Barbara, Calif., they told People.

“We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment,” the couple told People. “To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends, and most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives.”

Simpson, 33, and Johnson, 34, got engaged in 2010 after six months together. The next year, she announced that they were expecting their first child, daughter Maxwell Drew, who was born in May 2012. Just a few months later, Simpson was surprised to learn that she was expecting again, and in June 2013, their son Ace Knute came along.

After two children, Simpson said this past January that “we need to get married,” though she wasn’t in a rush.

“If he wanted to run, he could have run when I was hormonal and pregnant,” she said on Good Morning America. “I already feel like we’re like an old married couple already!”

Simpson was previously married to Nick Lachey. The couple, who split in 2005, had featured their relationship on the MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
