With the Raptors recently extending point guard Kyle Lowry, the team was looking to unload salary, as Novak is set to make $7.2 million over the next two years. The Jazz will send back a future second-round pick.

The 31-year old Novak is an eight-year veteran who can help stretch the floor for the Jazz as they already have a good nucleus of front-court players like Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors, and Jeremy Evans.

After finding consistent playing time with the New York Knicks, Novak quickly fell out of favor in Toronto, as he averaged just 10.0 minutes per game and averaged 3.3 points per game.

Despite the limited playing time, Novak still remains a deadly shooter from the 3-point line. In 54 games for the Raptors last season, Novak shot .426% from 3.
