(ABERDEEN, ID) – J.R. Simplot executives are keeping their Aberdeen plant open for another month.
The plant was initially slated to close in March, but was delayed because of setbacks at the company’s new facility in Caldwell. Local News 8 reports that the closure will impact 127 hourly workers and another 13 salaried employees.
The plant remains Aberdeen’s largest employer. Simplot is offering employees educational assistance and onsite courses in resume preparation.
