American Airlines Taking Fares Off Orbitz

American Airlines Newsroom(NEW YORK) — American Airlines says it is pulling fares from consumer travel site Orbitz.com.
The air carrier has announced it will withdraw the fares for American Airlines and U.S. Airways, effective September 1.
A statement from American Airlines says it had tried reach a deal with Orbitz but the economics would not allow it to compete with the low-cost carriers.
The airline says the move will not impact flights that have already been booked and will not affect corporate clients that use Orbitz for business.
