(JEROME, ID) – A BASE jumper died in south-central Idaho over the weekend. The accident happened Friday evening when the jumper’s parachute failed to properly deploy.
The man, whose name has not been released, attempted to jump the Snake River Canyon near Shoshone Falls. Witnesses say the parachute became tangled and the man struck boulders on a cliff face about 300 feet above the river.
Three other jumpers were involved, but it is not yet known if any of them sustained injuries.
