(POCATELLO, ID) – One of Pocatello’s oldest churches is getting a facelift. The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on 5th Avenue has been around for nearly a century, and is already in the National Register of Historic Places.
KPVI reports that the church, which serves about 150 southeast Idaho families, is getting a new roof, sound system, floor, pews, and an updated look. Church officials say the building will maintain the same overall aesthetic, and will continue to be a gathering place for the community for years to come.
The project should take about three months.
