Pocatello Property Taxes Going Up
Published at(POCATELLO, ID) – Property taxes are going up in Pocatello. The city has set a fiscal year 2015 budget of $92 million.
The proposed increase would boost taxes by about $50 for every $1,000 paid in property taxes annually.
Officials say the city lost about $2 million last year because it discontinued PILOT fees, which dropped prices for water and utilities.
Authorities maintain that the tax increase is necessary to maintain Pocatello’s infrastructure.
