Sixth Humanitarian Aid Airdrop Made in Iraq
Published at(SINJAR, Iraq) — The U.S. military made a sixth airdrop of humanitarian supplies on Mount Sinjar on Tuesday.
The airdrop was conducted from multiple airbases, according to the U.S. Central Command, and included two C-17 aircraft and two C-130 cargo aircraft. In total, 108 bundles of supplies were dropped, containing over 7,000 gallons of water and over 14,000 meals for Yazidi refugees in Iraq.
To date, U.S. Central Command says over 100,000 meals and 27,000 gallons of drinking water have been dropped by U.S. military aircraft, in conjunction with the Iraqi government.
