Tiger Woods Fires Coach Sean Foley
Published at(NEW YORK) — Tiger Woods has parted ways with swing coach Sean Foley.
“I’d like to thank Sean for his help as my coach and for his friendship,” Woods said on his website. “Sean is one of the outstanding coaches in golf today, and I know he will continue to be successful with the players working with him. With my next tournament not until my World Challenge event at Isleworth in Orlando [in December], this is the right time to end our professional relationship.”
The 14-time major champion said that there is no timetable for hiring a new coach.
Woods suffered severe back pain throughout the 2014 PGA season and withdrew from the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone classic before failing to make the cut at the PGA Championship.
Woods is aiming for a Dec. 4 return for his tournament, the World Challenge in Orlando, Florida.
