Fish and Game: Great Deer Season Ahead

(POCATELLO, ID) – General rifle hunts for deer are less than two weeks away, and state wildlife officials say prospects are good for hunters this fall.
Fish and Game spokeswoman Jennifer Jackson tells KIDK that the past three winters have been relatively mild, making it easier for fawns to grow into adulthood. Officials say deer numbers are up, and there’s a much wider selection of mature animals than in years past.
Jackson says the animals are also much healthier because they’ve had better access to forage.
