Harvest Moon Lights Up the Night Sky

NASA/Bill Ingalls(NEW YORK) — A “super moon” lit up the sky Monday, the third such occurrence this summer.
The glowing orb could be seen around sunset, providing a beautiful evening backdrop.
People tried to capture photos of the moon, which is also classified as a harvest moon because it falls the closest to this year’s autumnal equinox on Sept. 22.
Stunning views of the moon could be seen across the world.
In the days before electricity, the harvest moon illuminated the fields, allowing farmers to tend to their crops under the night sky, according to EarthSky.
